March Events:

  • 1st – BTS sets a new Billboard record being the first Korean artist to rank on the Billboard 200 Chart 6 times.
    • They are also currently on the Billboard World Album Chart for their 20th consecutive week (2nd place held by both Psy and GOT7 at 1 week each),
    • and Billboard’s Social 50 chart for the 20th week  (ranking longer than all other Korean Artists with exception to Psy who ranked on the chart for 56 weeks).
  • 2nd – One K Global Peace Concert – Manila, Philippines (SHINee, B1A4, CNBLUE, AOA, B.A.P, BTOB, Psy)
  • 2nd – NH Media confirms Keven is leaving U-KISS
  • 3rd – Dates for KCON USA announced. KCON NY will be 23-24 June and KCON LA will be 18-20 August [Note KCON did not add a 3rd day to the line up in NY as of yet, but rumors are that it’s still possible. Stay tuned.]
  • 4th – Produce 101 season 2 begins filming and MNET promises season 2 winners will have a longer promotional season than season 1. [and the rest of us are laughing that MNET is so determined to carry on with this guaranteed train wreck.]
  • 5th – TKC17 (Toronto Kpop Con 2017) tickets go on sale at 7pm EST. K.A.R.D was announced as their TKC’s first confirmed act for the con lineup. [Congratulations K.A.R.D!]
  • 6th – GOT7 enters the 100 million YouTube views club with their MV Just Right.
  • 7th – 8 major entertainment companies are under investigation for forcing “slave contracts” on their talent by the Korean Fair Trade Commission (KFTC). The companies listed are SM, YG, JYP, Loen, FNC, Cube, Jellyfish, and DSP.
  • 13th – EXO tickets for NY and LA go on sale 8pm local time. Tickets are sold through MyMusicTaste. If you are a registered TasteMaker you can purchase one ticket in VIP member ticket sale starting 10 March at 8pm local time.
  • 17th – SXSW KPop Night Out  (Red Velvet, Hyolyn, Drunken Tiger, Yoon MiRae, Galazy Express, No Brain, Big Phony)
  • 17th & 18th – KCON Mexico.  The line up includes BTS, Eric Nam, EXID, NCT 127, Astro, Infinite H, Monsta X, Red Velvet. This is the first major international multi-group show for BTS is the lead headliner.
