Records in KPop for 2017

Happy New Year, KPoppers.

2017 was an amazing year for KPop. We did things and topped charts many never thought was possible a few years ago. So we thought a great way to close out the year would be to take a quick look back at the amazing records that you; as fans, helped make happen in 2017.

We will update this list as  more year end charts roll in (like GAON which will be out first week in January).

2 thoughts on “Records in KPop for 2017

  1. Hi,
Just a question. I see this list but Super Junior Yesung’s solo had much higher sales on both Hanteo and Gaon than #8, #9, or #10 on your list.

    Best Selling Solo for 2017:
    GDragon — Kwon Ji Yong — 119,618
    Taeyeon — My Voice — 105,913
    Taemin — MOVE — 91,763
    IU — Palette — 49,388
    Taeyeon — Winter Is Coming — 42,383
    Taemin — MOVEing — 23,943
    IU — Flower Bookmark 2 — 22,886
    Samuel — Eye Candy — 20,083
    Jun.K — My 20s — 11,300
    ZICO — Television — 10,041

Even at the mid- year count in July, Yesung had (by Gaon) was at #65 with 20,998 copies sold of his normal edition of Spring Falling and then placed at #78 with 11,677 copies sold of his limited edition version of Spring Falling for at total of 32,675 copies sold.

    1. You are absolutely right! Thank you for pointing this out to us. We carefully went back over the solo list and realized there were several we had missed. Yesung ended the year with 20,713 Hanteo sales for both the special and regular albums combined. (Keep in mind Gaon will always be higher than Hanteo).

We have decided to make a more comprehensive list of Hanteo sales 2017 album sales so everyone can find their faves on the chart (including Yesung and Kyuhyun). We’ll add a link right here for you when it’s done.

Thanks again for calling our attention to our error, and for your patience.
