A PAK (Perfect All Kill) is different from a Certified All Kill and an All Kill.
A PAK is 1st in all categories including the Weekly chart. There are many groups with All Kills, and Certified All Kills. [Example: f(x) got a Certified All Kill for Electric Shock but not weekly, so it’s not a PAK.]
All Kills and Certified All Kills make great headlines, but they happen frequently. Keeping track of all of them would be too time consuming for our tiny group. So we here at KpG will only log PAKs.
What KPop refers to as a “PAK” is not to be confused with a “MelOn Perfect All Kill”. A MelOn PAK is when the entire album charts in all the top slots with no other artist’s tracks interfering .
Before anyone asks “Why is SNSD not there?” or “what about EXO?”, keep in mind that a… erm… certain company (read: SM) decided it didn’t want to play well with others so a certain streaming house (read: Cyworld) removed all SM tracks from it’s registry at the end of July 2011. This meant that until Cyword was removed from Instiz iChart on 1 June 2015, no SM artists had the opportunity of getting any form of All Kill.
—-·•⊕⊗⊕•·—-
Rule Changes:
As of 27 February 2017 — MelOn, Mnet, & Genie shift aggregation of real-time charts to between 12noon and 6pm only. Anything released not during that 6 hours will not count towards the chart until 1pm the following day.
As of 15 May 2017 — Soribada, Olleh and Monkey3 do not count towards iChart. Naver scores are now worth x2.
Soribada was kept in. This was likely the reason for the 1st Soribada Awards being announced for September.
Early 2019 — FLO & VIBE streaming services to be added to chart. FLO is owned by SM, JYP, & Big Hit. VIBE Music is a partnership of YG & Naver. VIBE is reported to replace Naver on the chart once launched.
—-·•⊗•·—-
Things to Note:
- Instiz iChart launched in March 2010.
- Although PAKs did happen prior to 2011, many aren’t counted because the charts are hard to find.
- Before 2015 there were 10 charts.

In fact, our plowing through Instiz shows SMTM’s I’m Not What You Knew and Comfortable topped the weekly charts at that time. If anyone has proof of SISTAR’s PAK with a timestamp, please share with us, and we will remove the disclaimer.

Thanks for the explanation, I see that some websites indicate a number behind the PAK, is that like a counter for how many PAKs that song achieved, how does that get counted? For example, IU’s LEON achieved PAK but then there’s a counter number 136.

If you’re talking about the number to the right, this is a tally score of points on each digital platform (MelOn, Genie, etc.). On the actual Instiz iChart you can click on the number and it will give you a pop up so you can see the breakdown by platform.
Sorry it took us so long to answer. Somehow your question was buried and missed. Feel free to grab us on Twitter if you have more questions.

Can you made a list with only All-Kill?

The reason we don’t have an All Kill List is because there are just way too many. Individual fandoms do a pretty great job of keeping up with All Kills. We suggest you check fandom sites or group subreddits.

I don’t get the fascination with IU TBH. She passes by with average vocals and her looks are overrated. It’s similar to Hyuna. Two of the most overrated talents in SK.

IU:
Her steady and dreamy vocals along with self-written and frequently-praised lyrics are two of the main reasons of Korea’s so-called “fascination”. Her lyrics are really different in the POV of Korean-speakers, something International fans will never know. You should really research more before calling someone “overrated”.

You know nothing about why IU is so successful as an celebrity, how can you say she is overrated? Please do a full research before jumping into conclusion. If I jump into conclusions about you now just from your comment, can I say that you are just jealous that you clearly have no achievement in life, not to mention you are also not pretty or even a good person. How would you feel?

you forgot f(x)’s electric shock

f(x) did achieve a Certified All Kill but they did not get a Perfect All Kill which includes the weekly chart. Unfortunately, this was widely misreported due to lack of clarification between PAKs and CAKs. It’s why we used Electric Shock as our example above.

Would you be able to clear up some confusion I have over the Melon PAK? I’ve found articles saying Winner has achieved a Melon PAK, but only for one song? I thought it would be for the whole album? And I also thought 2ne1 had achieved this for CRUSH, but I haven’t found any reliable sources on that. If you could clear up some of my confusion here I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

For a MelOn PAK the entire album must be listed on MelOn with no other album songs interfering (including previous albums from that artist). You cannot have a MelOn PAK for one song.
We don’t keep track of MelOn PAKs since it only involves MelOn and no other services, but we suggest looking at fanbases , OH, or r/kpop. Most of those keep pretty good records.

We only keep track of PAKs here because keeping a list of CAKs or AKs would just be too time consuming.
– Come Back Home did not reach a PAK.
– Bom’s Don’t Cry PAK is already included on our list (see 2011).

Good article, it helped me in what I was looking for great research. Other records that could be added are those of Twice: It is the only Kpop group to get 3 consecutive PAK, it is the only artist to get 3 consecutive PAKs while being a rookie.

Good points. We’ll add that in.

BIGBANG’s Loser [2015], Let’s Not Fall In Love [2015] and Fxxk It [2016] are technically all from one album [MADE] as well, aren’t they? I know their promotion was rather unorthodox and its kinda iffy. Wouldn’t this make them the first artist to achieve this? (Of course, after that IU achieved it as well, much more fluidly)

That’s a good question, but the answer is no. When it comes to things like this we deffer to how Hanteo & Gaon view them. Since they divide and list them as separate albums, so do we.

I thought the song Good Day (achieved PAK on 8 Oct 2018) is by pH-1, Kid Milli, Loopy and Paloalto from SMTM8?
LikeLike
I mean SMTM7

There were some places that reported Good Day as a PAK, but Good Day didn’t reach #1 on the weekly. Good Day did take 1st on all daily so it did earn a CAK (certified all kill).
LikeLike
But I thought Good Day was from SMTM777? And there were several featuring artists as well. Apparently you didn’t include those in the list above
LikeLike
It’s the same song. Instiz shortened the artist listing to just pH-1 (who is one of the artists) because twitter has character limits and because of spacing on their site. Notice the “Feat.” which means “featuring”. If you need a full artist list for reference: it was produced by Code Kunst and features pH-1, Loopy, Kid Milli, and Paloalto.
If you look at all the other SMTM tracks listed on our page that made PAKs (or any other show) they too are listed by the actual artists, not listing the show as the creator.
But in any case; this song did not make a PAK. Only a CAK. The corresponding @instiz_ichart is linked above.
